For the past month, much of the world, including our corner of Dar es Salaam, has been going through the Muslim religious practices associated with Ramadan. The New Moon was just sighted, and that means Ramadan ended and the country celebrates a two day holiday called EID. Then life will resume back to normal.
During this past month, I’ve had the opportunity to enter into many religious conversations with various folks, and have witnessed the deep spiritualism of the African people. There is an openness in discussing divergent beliefs, and I look forward to continued dialogues with Muhammad, Abdullah, Ali, and many others. Within a few steps of our front door, I can stand and hear the call to prayer from five different local mosques, as well as a worship center packed with 500 Christians singing praise songs. The fields are ripe! Please continue to pray for opportunities to share the light of Christ with all those we know.
In His grip, Eric
