In addition to training pastors overseas, part of my job is to train US pastors to join us in training pastors globally. We work in about 25 countries, offering three week-long workshops each year in each place, so obviously there are far more trainings to do than what our four person team can handle. So we look to US pastors who have experience preaching expositionally and a heart for seeing pastors globally equipped to do the same.
The past couple weeks and next week, I am meeting with regional clusters of pastors throughout the Pacific Northwest to expose them to the trainings we offer, hoping that some of them will take the steps to commit to the day and a half workshops we offer stateside, and then join us overseas. Actually, in each place I go, I am met with overwhelming support for the work we do, and much interest in becoming a part of the work. However, pastors are busy people, so eeking out day and a half for a training can sometimes be challenging. Those who do go through our trainings are not only blessed by studying the Word together with others, sharpening their expositional skills and enjoying learning the Word better, but they also move toward the exciting service of training hungry pastors globally.
