God acts for the sake of His Name: Ezekiel 36:22-28

On December 27, 2020, I preached a message at Littlerock Community Fellowship, our home church, based on Ezekiel 36:22-28. The main point of the message was: God acts to restore His sinful people for the sake of His glory among the nations.

Sermon outline:

1. God acts for the sake of His glory among the nations. (22-23)

2. God acts to restore His sinful people. (24-28)

      A. He gathers those who are distant. (24,28a)

      B.  He cleanses those who are filthy from sin. (25)

      C. He gives new life to those who are dead. (26)

      D. He places His Spirit in His people leading to obedience. (27)

      E. He restores a broken relationship. (28b)

Central application: God acts for His own sake, so His name, His glory, His holiness may be vindicated and made known through all the earth, for all people. The sooner we embrace this truth and let it rule us, the sooner we will experience a spiritual transformation and new life in the Spirit the way God designed. God’s highest glory is the best possible thing for us.

“Oh, the depth of your riches and wisdom and knowledge, Lord God Almighty! How unsearchable are your judgments and how inscrutable your ways! For from You and through You and to You are all things. To You be glory forever. Amen.” (Rom.11:33-36)
