This past weekend, Holly and I flew to Casper, Wyoming for a packed weekend of ministry. I preached in church services on Thursday night and in two services Sunday morning, participated in David Platt’s Secret Church Friday night, led an all day Pathways training Saturday, and met with the missions team and many individuals throughout the weekend. It was a joy being with the Cornerstone church family, our hosts Kevin and Jackie were a delight and quickly became friends, and sweetest of all was having my bride join me in ministry.
Along the way, we took a few walks into the local hills which were still covered with snow… in late April!
One of the elements Holly and I most enjoyed was drawing near to people, listening to their stories, engaging them in dialogue, and encouraging them in how God might want to use them in His service. Many in the church were open to hearing how God might want to use them globally, which perfectly coincided with the message of David Platt in Secret Church, and my preaching messages from Matthew 16.
I was pleased that about ten church leaders attended a full day Pathways workshop where I offered them training in how to study, understand, and teach the Bible.
On our hike, Holly found a monument with a quote from the Rotary Club that she appreciated, particularly in these days when there are many opinions and criticism, and positive appreciation is deeply needed.
Preaching at the services gave the lead pastor, Jace, a chance to get away with his family. God is doing good things in this church, and we are grateful for their partnership with us in equipping pastors globally. Here is a link to the youtube of my message:
