A full house!

Empty nesting has been on a hiatus as our kids have all returned and are filling the house! Hollymama is ear to ear smiles having all the kids back, and the ambient volume in the house has multiplied a number of times. What a joy to celebrate the incarnate Son of God along with Adam and his new wife Sofia, Andrew, and Alyssa.

We’ve had some great times eating good food, making Christmas goodies (and eating them of course), visiting Christmas lights, singing Christmas carols, hosting friends, playing games, having family devotionals, going for hikes, sitting around the fire sharing stories, and of course worshiping our awesome God with our church family. I’m afraid that Holly is gonna be a sad mama as the kids leave and head back home. But fun memories abide with us.

Tomorrow, December 31, I preach at our church. Our passage will be Joshua 1:1-9, and it has been good studying this for the last couple weeks. God offers words of encouragement and hope for Joshua during a time of massive transition, and there is much we can apply in our own lives as we move into 2024. Be strong and courageous, obeying God’s Word and trusting in His promises!

Regardless of what God has in store for 2024, may your new year be filled with success as you pursue God’s purposes in your life.
