After a week in Kentucky and nearly two weeks in Tanzania filled with ministry, Holly and I passed briefly through Zanzibar on our way back home. Zanzibar is a relatively small island just off the coast of Dar es Salaam, about 99% Muslim. We met many interesting folks, but our main goal was to process all that had just happened, reflecting on the journey together and decisions that needed to be made, and rest a bit before boarding planes heading home. Two nights in Zanzibar were perfect.
Trips certainly look a bit different with Holly joining me, but we both concluded that we function better together than apart, she complements me in perceiving things in the network that I miss, and our ministry and marriage are stronger and healthier when we travel and minister together. We will do more reflecting on this during our sabbatical time of “RENEW” in mid August, but we are thinking it may be necessary, appropriate, and beneficial for us to travel together more in the future, especially now that the kids have grown and are out of the house.
Thank you for your prayers and partnership with us, for this last trip and as we continue in service to our glorious God. We are grateful for the opportunity to equip dear brothers and sisters from many different nations in healthy Bible study skills so they can preach, teach, and handle God’s Word well, building churches on the solid foundation of Christ and His Word.
