After many years of praying and waiting for God’s timing and the right relationships to emerge, God opened a door and connected me with Pastor Gideon in Akure, Nigeria. Finally we will be launching Pathways in Nigeria! Early Thursday morning, Ryan Bedford, an elder from my home church, and I will leave for a couple trainings in Nigeria. Here are some of the details, and we would ask you to please join us in praying for God’s blessing on this time.
Date: March 13-21
Key People: I will be joined by LCF elder Ryan Bedford and we will be working with Nigerian coordinator Gideon Umukoro.
Overview: Nigeria is a very strategic nation because movements oftentimes start in Nigeria and spread throughout Africa. Gideon seems to be very organized and is collecting a great network of master trainers. While some parts of Nigeria are dangerous and unstable, the area where we will be (Akure, about four hours from Lagos) is quite stable.
Itinerary:
- March 13-14 – Travel to Nigeria.
- March 15 – Ryan leads a “Business as Mission” conference for interested local businesspeople.
- March 16 – Preach in churches, prepare for Pathways launch.
- March 17-19 – Pathways workshop #1 in Akure, Nigeria.
- March 20-21 – Travel home.
Prayer Requests:
- Praise God that both Ryan and Eric received their Nigerian visas a few days ago. These visas are very expensive and difficult to get, but now that we have them, they should last throughout the Pathways cycle of trainings.
- Praise God for opening a door for Pathways in Nigeria. Pray for wisdom as Gideon selects the participants, and that these will spread the training to many others.
- Pray for both the Pathways training Eric will lead and the Business as Mission training Ryan will lead, that they will connect well with participants.
- Please pray for Holly while Eric is away as her health struggles are continuing.
