These days are full of ministry: Jeremy’s memorial service Saturday, preaching and leading Bible class Sunday at Hope church, then Monday morning I board planes heading back to southern Africa. This is the final training in our Pathways series with this network in Blantyre, southern Malawi. The network has had their ups and downs, as is usual, but according to the local coordinators we have a good group prepared and excited to go through this workshop focused on the book of Habakkuk followed by their graduation and presentation of certificates. Here are some of the details and I welcome your prayers as Steve and I engage with this network of pastors.
Malawi Dates: October 20-28, 2025
Overview: Eric will be joined by retired pastor Steve Boyd for this final training and graduation in Blantyre, southern Malawi. Two separate groups of pastors, one from central Malawi and one from the south, will be joining together to do a final review of all of Pathways and then preach through the book of Habakkuk, practicing all the Pathways steps and tool in delivering God-honoring messages.
Itinerary:
- Oct. 20-22 – Travel to Blantyre, Malawi and prep for training.
- Oct. 23-25 – Training and then graduation.
- Oct. 26 – Preach in churches and ministry meetings.
- Oct. 27-28 – Travel home.
Prayer Points:
- Praise God for His faithfulness in this group. There have been some challenges along the way, but we have 16 who will be graduating.
- Pray that all the participants will be well prepared for their preaching assignments in Habakkuk.
- Pray that Steve and I can offer helpful feedback on sermons, and also motivate the group to continue practicing Pathways principles in their preaching and training other pastors after we depart.
- Pray once again for Holly while I’m away. It is a busy season with responsibilities stateside and internationally that take me away from home more than usual.
