One of my seminary professors once told me that if I wanted to have a life filled with adventure, change, craziness and unpredictability, go onto the mission field. Well here we are, living that message out.
As of yesterday, we decided to go to the island of Zanzibar for a short, intensive language learning experience where we will attend a Swahili school and live with a Tanzanian family. It will be an adventure, and we’ll be there for one-two weeks, and truly appreciate your prayers. We leave on Sunday, Nov. 1.
On top of that, we are trying to finalize moving to a permanent home, purchasing all the necessary furnishings, buying a vehicle, and getting our family settled into life in Africa. Yesterday, I spent the day bouncing between various offices downtown trying to get a Tanzanian driver’s license. I made friends with many of the local police, and learned much about how the system works in Tanzania.
Also, our excellent homeschool teacher, Melissa, is heading back to America on Tuesday, and she will be sorely missed. Please pray for the kids to get into Haven of Peace Academy very soon.
May God grant us the grace to stay on target in following Him.
Eric
