Hi friends,
Well, this week was filled with exciting times for our five year old. Although the boys are still on the waiting list at HOPAC, and likely will not be admitted until fall, we’ve decided to go ahead and start Allie. Beginning Wednesday, we got up early as a family to take her in, make sure she got settled, and then let her launch on her own. She is making friends, and her main struggles in her words are: “The days are really long, and my brain has to work really hard.” She is going to love being with other kids her age, and we all are excited for her.
The boys will continue homeschooling, partially with the help of a local family, and the rest we will do. They will be in a few activities at HOPAC a couple days each week, such as art, PE, Swahili and after school sports. They are both really wanting to go full-time, but in God’s wisdom He has another plan right now.
Thank you for your continued prayers for our family. We’re continuing to make adjustments to life here. Tons of rain recently, much flooding, and high temps create some fun humidity. Sweat is our closest companion. I’m reading This Present Darkness to the boys and they are eating it up. It is definitely inspiring our prayers and awareness of spiritual realities. I will be preaching through Nehemiah for the next four weeks at Reach Chapel, a local international church plant we’ve gotten involved in, while Holly helps to guide the children’s ministry program.
Pressing on by His grace, Eric
