In this brief video, the focus is on the Pathways step called “context.” Another way to describe the literary context of a passage is the verses and chapters that surround the passage being studied. In order to understand the author’s intent for the passage, catching the flow of thought from surrounding verses is very helpful. This vital step helps the Bible student move from observing what the text says to understanding what the text means in view of the larger context, progressing further along the Bible pathway.
