Holly at Seattle Mission Festival

It was a joy to be able to attend Seattle Missions Festival with some friends a couple of weeks ago. There was everything from the expo building, filled with many exciting things that are happening around the world, to the final worship time where we entered heaven with a Russian and Ukrainian orchestra and choir.

There were so many inspirational take aways and there have already been opened doors for making connections. Some of my favorite sessions were on creative prayer for children and adults.

Check out prayercast.com with actual daily video prayers from a national from the country that is being prayed for. Other resources that were presented were:

  •  https://worldpryaerguides.org (has versions for kids also)
  • podcasts kids: Who are Frontier People Groups
  • https://www.worldchristian.com
  • Joshua Project app and website
  • Window on the World books by Operation World, Across the Street and Around the World Jeannie Marie, and My Father’s World – Countries and Cultures
  • Kids Curriculum: Writebonnierose.com – Persecuted and Unreached
  • Give Your Child the World by Jamie C. Martin
  • Wycliffe and IMB Kids Activities through countries

Some other highlights included the keynote speaker, a young lady who was a defector from North Korea. What a heartbreaking journey she has been on! Her testimony brought a sobering challenge to be bold in our faith.

It was an honor to give tribute to Brother Andrew (God’s Smuggler) who went to be with Jesus recently after an incredible life of service to the Lord. https://www.brotherandrewlegacy.org

I was also excited to find resources like a local Perspectives Mission class in my area. Eric and I took this course before we left for Africa, and I have been looking for a way to take it again for many years! https://class.perspectives.org/

By the end of the conference, my heart was full and my passion was rekindled with God’s purpose for bringing all the nations to glorify Himself. There were so many powerful testimonies, times of intense prayer and worship, and connections with organizations from all over the world who are working to do just that! I’m already looking forward  to next year!
