Greetings, praying friends. I would very much appreciate your prayers for the next training trip I will be doing in west Africa – two countries, two networks this time. Here are the details:
Overview – I will be joined by my Africa training partner Randy for this longer and more involved trip. We will offer workshop #2 (2 Timothy) for a network in Akure, Nigeria, then offer our final workshop (Habakkuk) and graduation for a network in Monrovia, Liberia.
Key People – Please pray for our Nigeria coordinator Gideon as he organizes details amidst some health problems. And pray for Liberia coordinator James as there are many details with the final training and graduation which must come together.
Itinerary
- Sept 17-18 – Depart early morning to Lagos, then to Akure, Nigera.
- Sept 19-22 – Workshop #2 in Akure, then back to Lagos.
- Sept 23 – Travel to Monrovia, Liberia.
- Sept 24-26 – Final Pathways workshop in Monrovia, then graduation.
- Sept 27-28 – Return to Portland.
Prayer Requests
- In addition to praying for our coordinators, please pray for Randy and me. Specifically that we make all our travel connections and that we radiate grace and truth in training African pastors. Travel in Africa is not easy, and many things can go sideways. Pray we will keep high spirits and positive disposition throughout a very full schedule.
- Please pray that all the participants in Nigeria and Liberia will be prepared for the training, and that Randy and I will be able to move them forward in their “Word work.”
- Praise God that the Liberia network in nearing completion, but attendance has been a bit spotty at times, so pray that all those God leads to attend will do so. Presenting of certificates at graduation usually helps bolster attendance! 😉
- Please pray for Holly while I’m away. Health issues have been challenging over the summer.
