The last few weeks have been FILLED with meeting with various friends and special folks who are continuing to walk with us on our journey of mission work in Tanzania. What an incredible blessing to reconnect with so many people who are partnering with us toward seeing God be glorified among people from every tongue and tribe and nation. As I have been sharing with folks about God’s work in East Africa, it is so much fun to see people enthralled with the glorious God we serve as lives are being transformed and the vision is captured for equipping Africans to reach Africans.

This morning, I was reading in Deuteronomy 8 as Moses challenges the people of Israel in v.10-11, “When you have eaten and are satisfied, praise the Lord your God for the good land he has given you. Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day.” We have been so very blessed, personally, as a people of God, and as a nation. Let us never forget that all we have and are is by God’s grace and for His glory.

As I spent time with my Uncle a few days ago who lives very simply in a small apartment, but gives so generously to see God’s kingdom grow in Africa, I was humbled by his example of kingdom-mindedness. How easy it is to get caught up in the pace of life, the things of this world, the distractions that slow us down from radical, headlong pursuit of Christ. Friends, let us “remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth.” (v.18)

God has us here for a purpose, and the more missional we are in fulfilling that purpose, the more we will align with His will and bring Him glory. To that end let us strive with all our might, and pray for His grace to keep our eyes fixed on Him, always remembering and celebrating His goodness.
