Two Paths sermon from Luke 11:28-36

Greetings friends. I am posting the sermon I preached last Sunday at our home church of Littlerock Community Fellowship in Olympia, WA. The main point of the passage and my message was: Receive the light of God’s Word in faith rather than rejecting it leading to condemnation and darkness. In this passage, Jesus clearly states that there are two paths, one lifelong response, and two ultimate destinations. Which will you choose, today and every day? You either receive His message, God’s Word, hearing and obeying it, or you reject His message, ignoring it, rationalizing your sin rather than repenting of it. And over time you move further and further along the path toward light or darkness, blessing or condemnation. May you choose Christ today.

1. Receiving God’s Word yields blessing. (28)

2. Rejecting God’s Word yields condemnation. (29-32)

3. Your response will spread and fill you. (33-36)

John 1:9-12 –“The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.”
