For today, I thought it would be fun to have Holly share the blog entry. So here she is:<\/p>\n
Well, we have been here over a year.\u00a0 Some things are getting easier and in a way some things are getting harder.\u00a0 I am learning how to get around and how to communicate with the nationals.\u00a0 I understand more about the culture and our family is starting to feel that\u00a0this is\u00a0home.\u00a0 On the other hand,\u00a0 some of the things about living here are\u00a0starting to wear on me.\u00a0 It’s kind of like Chinese water torture.\u00a0 When there is\u00a0this slow drip on your forhead you can handle\u00a0it for awhile and you don’t really think about it.\u00a0 But then after hours and hours\u00a0you realize that it is really driving you crazy!\u00a0\u00a0Life here is so very different than\u00a0my world view and for the first year it was all new and I accepted it.\u00a0 But now little things are starting to wear on me. Smoke in my house everyday from the burning garbage outside my house.\u00a0 The smell of plastic burning in the garbage.\u00a0 Electricity going out randomly for several hours on any given day.\u00a0 MOSQUITOS.\u00a0<\/p>\n
I’m sure by this time next year I will be over it and these things won’t bother me anymore.\u00a0 Then again they might.\u00a0 Regardless, I know this is where we should be and I feel at peace being here.\u00a0 So, no matter what little things come my way I am willing to work through them and press on.\u00a0 When the little things of life are driving you crazy too, we can remember each other, pray for God to grant us patience, and dream of the day when there will be no more drips of water.<\/p>\n
