Do you know what these initials stand for… A.B.D.? If you hover around academic circles, you know in that context they stand for “All But Dissertation.” That’s where I’m at. All my coursework has been completed. All credits are finished. I just checked with my department chairman, and he said all that is needed is “just a completed dissertation.” He makes it sound so simple. For my doctorate in intercultural studies, I need to write a 200-300 page dissertation (capstone project) with scholarly research, missiological investigation and ministry relevance following required dissertation academic formulas. Sounds like fun, huh??!!

In a couple days, I head to Latin America to conduct a Pathways training with a new network and do dissertation interviews with several graduates of Pathways. I’ll be in three countries, Peru, Guatemala and Panama, in that order.

Please be in prayer for my traveling partner, Mike (who is our Latin America Pathways director) and me as we will be on the move a lot, meeting with many different groups, striving to bless and equip pastors wherever we go. Please also pray that I will be faithful in continuing my dissertation research and writing, hopefully to complete everything by Dec. 2020. Thank you.
