Alyssa is a blessing

God’s Word tells us in Psalm 127:

Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord,
    the fruit of the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
    are the children of one’s youth.
Blessed is the man
    who fills his quiver with them! 

Truly God’s grace has been upon Holly and me by blessing us with a “heritage from the Lord,” three kids who all know and love Jesus, and are seeking to honor Him in their lives. I don’t know that our “quiver is full” but it is as full as it is going to get. 😉

Alyssa is always very engaged in our family devotion times as she, Holly, and I go through the Gospel of Luke these days. She shares many good thoughts, asks probing questions, and is growing to handle God’s Word well. As you may know, she has been experiencing some health problems for the past 6+ years, and that has affected her life in many ways. Yet she trusts God through it all, and is thankful for the faithful prayers that have been offered for her. She wanted me to pass on to those who have prayed, “I appreciate the prayers from many people over the years. God has used your prayers to grow me spiritually in so many ways. I am forever blessed by how God has and is working!”

Recently, she sang (and played on guitar) a song by Taylor Tripodi that was very special, a friend recorded it, and I thought I’d share it with you, hoping you are likewise encouraged.

 Truly I “stand in awe” of our gracious, loving, holy, righteous God, and I am a blessed man because of His work in the lives of my kids. While Holly and I don’t know what specific plans God has for them, we trust Him to lead them, and know wherever He takes them, as they “dwell in the shelter of the Most High,” and “abide in the shadow of the Almighty,” He will be their refuge, their fortress, their God in whom they trust. (Psalm 91:1-2)
