Dear ministry partners, a few days ago I returned from what was probably the most complex trip I’ve taken, managing over a dozen one-way flights, staying in four continents and stopping in S. Korea, Thailand, Bangladesh (two locations), Nepal, India, France, Cameroon (west Africa) (two locations), Morocco, London, Iceland, then home. I’m guessing I traveled perhaps 30,000 miles or more, had flights canceled along the way, had to change bookings for accommodations and flights, dealt with immigration struggles to get visas at a couple locations, and many other harrowing adventures. BUT, through it all, God was faithful and the entire trip was a success in accomplishing the goals I had.
Here is a reminder of the route I traveled:
Bangladesh. My perception is that this country is a poorer version of India. There are many similarities to India yet the people are struggling to survive. Homeless beggars are everywhere, the needs of the pastors are enormous, yet God worked to offer the pastors good training they readily received in 2 Timothy. Securing the visa upon arrival was also a work of God as there were many obstacles, but He sent a helper (an angel??) who assisted me greatly when I needed it the most.

Following our Bangladesh training, my partner Matt and I flew to Kathmandu, Nepal to conduct a Pathways workshop for a group of pastors. Compared to Bangladesh, Nepal seemed cleaner, more organized, and much more relaxed. The participants did a good job progressing through the training, and despite Matt getting hit with a stomach bug one day and not being able to train, we were pleased with how things went overall.

Worship looks a bit different in various parts of the world, but these brothers enjoy exalting the same God we do.
Each day I got up early to do my workouts, and in Nepal I found a great path the run along next to the canal. Bangladesh was far too congested to offer running options.
I will continue highlighting aspects of the journey from Cameroon and even Iceland in the next blog, so stay tuned!
