Hi there, friends,

Some days on the mission field you are at the top of your game. Lives are being changed, you see results for the kingdom, you are connecting meaningfully with people and getting much work done, and your family is charged about your calling to mission work. And then there are the other days… many of them… when life is a struggle. Most recently, this has been because of our 10 year old Adam. For the past 6-8 months, he’s been struggling with health issues, and it is really starting to get him (and the rest of us) down. More days than not, he has bad stomach pains, body aches, fatigue and weakness, and often has fevers. In addition, he frequently has sores on his skin that turn into large infected boils that are NASTY. We’ve had several tests done which were inconclusive. Most recently, an American doctor working out in the village felt that Adam has a systemic staph infection, among other things. This is difficult to treat, but he’s prescribed some things, although when Adam takes antibiotics there are other sideaffects. We pray and pray, and others pray, and poor Adam continues to struggle. Andrew misses his playmate, and Holly is growing weary of not knowing what the problem is.

So our request is that we get an army of prayer warriors to persistently go before the throne of grace and ask for healing for Adam. Our loving Father cares about Adam, and as I heard in a recent seminar I attended, Satan frequently attacks the children of missionaries and pastors in order to render them ineffective in ministry. I know it is a huge burden in my heart, and so we continue to pray.
