Kingdom Harvesting – Luke 10

Brothers and sisters, kingdom partners. I would like to share with you a message a just preached yesterday for missions Sunday at our home church, Littlerock Community Fellowship. I hope you will enjoy it. The message was based on Luke 10:1-20 when Jesus sends 72 “laborers” into the “harvest” to prepare the way for Him. It is a beautiful passage filled with application for any who follow Jesus, hopefully inspiring us all to fervently and faithfully labor for God’s kingdom harvest.

The main point of the passage is: Jesus sends out laborers to proclaim His kingdom, and although reactions vary, joy prevails.  In order to organize the many thoughts Jesus shares with those he is sending out, I see three sections:

1. Laborers for God’s harvest. (1-7)

2. Reactions to proclaiming the kingdom. (8-16)

A. Positive responses yield blessing. (8-9)

B. Negative responses yield judgment. (10-16)

3. Power and joy in God’s kingdom. (17-20)

May God bless the preaching of His Word by sending out more laborers into His harvest for His glory.
